This thesis addresses the issue of modelling biological wastewater treatment. The main objective of the thesis is the implementation of the Activated Sludge Model No. 1 (ASM1) and its adaptation to the real operational conditions of a specific wastewater treatment plant. The introductory part presents a review of the principles of wastewater treatment plants, the activated sludge process, and basic approaches to dynamic system modelling. Furthermore, the structure of ASM models is described in detail, with particular emphasis on the ASM1 model. The practical part focuses on the implementation of the model in the MATLAB/Simulink environment using the Benchmark Simulation Model No. 1 (BSM1) and its modification for a sequencing batch reactor (SBR). Subsequently, the simulation results are evaluated and their agreement with the expected system behaviour is discussed. The thesis demonstrates the potential of ASM model as tool for process analysis, operational optimisation, and future control strategy design.

Student obhájil bakalářskou práci. Komise neměla žádné námitky k řešené práci. V průběhu odborné rozpravy student odpověděl na dotazy oponenta. Navazující otázka komise směřovala k použitým datovým sadám. Komise se dále zeptala na upřesnění označení indexů použitých veličin. Jsou vytvořené modely využitelné v reálu? Student odpověděl na položené otázky komise bez výhrad.
