The aim of the bachelor’s thesis for the Medlánky sports airport is to increase the storage capacity for aircraft, create exhibition spaces for historical pieces of aviation technology, provide short-term accommodation, and enhance the attractiveness of the area in the context of its wider surroundings. At present, there is a historic wooden hangar located within the site. Over many years of operation, various extensions were gradually “attached” to the main structure of the hangar. To the west of the existing hangar, there are temporary structures built by local pilots and club members. Within the scope of the project, these existing buildings are to be demolished. The new proposal consists of four buildings, two of which are hangar-type hall structures, while the other two are designed as short-term accommodation facilities. The hangar building increases the storage capacity for gliders and includes facilities for the hangar, a clubhouse, and a garage for a tractor with a winch. The surrounding area contains a park and a taxiway/airfield operating surface. The gallery building provides exhibition spaces for historic aviation equipment, a café, facilities for the café, a lecture room, and restroom facilities serving the entire complex. The short-term accommodation buildings are located in the westernmost part of the site. These buildings contain apartments, each consisting of a main living area, an entrance hall, a bathroom, and both south- and north-facing terraces. The accommodation concept is inspired by the style of Formula 1 hospitality lodging. The design responds to the needs of the airport complex and introduces added value in the form of representative spaces, short-term accommodation, sports facilities, and wellness amenities. As a result, the area becomes a far more attractive venue for both aviation-related and social events.

Student představil téma bakalářské práce, Sportovní letiště Brno - Medlánky. Po historickém přehledu komisi seznámil se svými klíčovými cíly: souznění, identita, modularita a udržitelnost. Představil urbanistický koncept a dále architektonické řešení a jednotlivé stavby. Dále pohovořil o použitím materiálů ( dřevo, polykarbonátové desky...) a zateplení staveb.
