This bachelor's thesis focuses on the design, implementation, and testing of a prototype for an energy-efficient and compact home Network Attached Storage (NAS) server based on a mini Personal Computer (PC) platform. The objective of the thesis was to create a centralized solution capable of simultaneously handling multimedia streaming, automated user data backups, local smart home management, and real-time security camera video recording and processing. The first chapter establishes the initial requirements for the final solution. It also includes a review and comparison of available commercial products. For the final setup, a Lenovo M920Q/X mini PC equipped with an Intel Core i5 8500T processor and 64~GB of Random Access Memory (RAM) was selected. Specific requirements were met by adding a quiet cooling system, a Dell H200 disk controller flashed to IT (Initiator-Target) mode, and a Google Coral accelerator. The software solution is built on Proxmox Virtual Environment (VE), which virtualizes the TrueNAS Scale operating system. TrueNAS manages the disk array and provides access to other software components. All application services, with the exception of the Home Assistant software, run in isolated Docker containers inside Linux Containers (LXC). These include Jellyfin for media distribution, Nextcloud for file synchronization and automated data backups, Immich for photo backups, and Frigate NVR for camera system recording and analytics. Home Assistant enables the control of smart home devices, as well as their monitoring and automation in conjunction with the Jablotron electronic security system (ESS). Secure access and remote connectivity are provided by NGINX Proxy Manager and the Tailscale Virtual Private Network (VPN) platform. Operational characteristics of the system were verified during practical testing in a real-world environment. While continuously recording and analyzing five 4K H.265 video streams from security cameras, the processor load ranged between 15% and 20%, with an average object detection time of 8~ms per frame. The average power consumption of the entire system under this load reached 30W. The final NAS server solution thus successfully met all the initial requirements.

Student prezentoval výsledky své práce a komise byla seznámena s posudky. Student obhájil bakalářskou práci a odpověděl na otázky členů komise a oponenta. Otázky: 1) V textu práce na více místech uvádíte, že vycházíte z nástrojů často využívaných komunitou (např. str. 29, reference [36]). Uveďte kolik a jaké zdroje jste analyzoval pro podporu těchto tvrzení. Byla provedena vlastní analýza, nebo došlo k převzetí provedené analýzy? 2) Popište limity navrženého řešení z pohledu dlouhodobého běhu (uvažujte provoz 24/7 po dobu 1 roku), možnosti správy a počtu připojených zařízení (počet, datový tok). 3) Prečo množstvo dát závisí na počte pohybov v zábere? 4) Ako by sa dal upraviť systém aby sa znížila záťaž na komunikačný kanál? 5) Aký je váš vlastný programový výstup?
