Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis deals with the structural stabilization of a baroque granary  in Velké Meziříčí, which is currently unused. Due to the investor's intention to adapt the building into exhibition spaces for a gallery, it was necessary to assess the existing structures.                                                                                                                 Based on the structural analysis, strengthening of timber beams with insufficient load-bearing capacity is proposed. To ensure the overal stiffness of the structure, horizontal prestressing of the perimeter walls and prestressing at the foundation level are proposed.
