The aim of the Bachelor’s thesis is to develop documentation of a two-storey nearly-zero energy house for a family of four located in Trnava. The thesis includes architectural and structural designs, fire safety designs, building physics assessment, design of selected building services and energy performance certificate. The floor plan of the house is L-shaped. The vertical load-bearing walls are made of sand-lime blocks. The house is founded on concrete strip foundations. The main part of the building is covered by a gable roof with a timber roof truss, and the garage is covered by a flat roof. The building envelope is insulated with polystyrene combined with mineral wool. The ground floor includes an entry hall, a guest room, a bathroom, a study, a living area with a kitchenette, a utility room, and a garage. The first floor contains two bedrooms, a bathroom, a master bedroom. The building services are designed with emphasis on energy efficiency and sustainability. Heat for space heating and domestic hot water is generated by a ground-to-water heat pump combined with a low-temperature underfloor heating system. Rainwater management includes collecting the runoff in a storage tank with an overflow into a gravel filled soakaway. The electrical system includes low-voltage grid connection, internal wiring and a lightning protection system. The air supply in the living area is provided by mechanical ventilation with heat recovery. The energy performance certificate of the building is developed by the Energetika software and the house has been classified into class A (extremely energy efficient).
