This master’s thesis deals with the application of deep learning methods for semantic segmentation of aerial images in order to map terrain passability for mobile robots. The thesis analyzes the current state of the art in the fields of deep neural networks and related datasets. For the purpose of training the neural network segmentation model, a custom dataset containing aerial images of the Czech Republic and corresponding pixel-level annotations was created. Based on this dataset, several training procedures were tested, and models based on the U-Net, DeepLabV3+, and SegFormer architectures were compared. The experiments also evaluated the impact of data augmentation and transfer learning on the training process. The highest segmentation performance was achieved by a model based on the DeepLabV3+ architecture, whose output was transformed into a cost map of the terrain. Based on this map, the A* algorithm was successfully implemented to demonstrate path planning between selected points.

Při obhajobě student nejprve prezentoval svoji diplomovou práci, následně byly přečteny posudky a student odpovídal na dotazy oponenta. Poté byly členy komise položeny následující otázky: Snímky jste anotoval ručně? Z čeho byste vycházel, kdybyste chtěl přidat nový objekt do seznamu? Jaké jsou výpočetní časy u trénování? Obhajoba byla komisí hodnocena jako výborná.
