This thesis presents the conceptual design of a low cost, hardware modular underwater drone. The vehicle is built around a threaded rod backbone that consolidates the structural skeleton, the component mounting rail, and the o-ring seal tensioner into a single set of standard fasteners, allowing external and internal components to be repositioned, removed, or replaced without modifying the primary structure. All custom structural and sealing parts are produced using consumer grade FDM 3D printing in PETG and laser cut cast acrylic. The propulsion system uses six vectored thrusters in a layout with a 30° horizontal mounting angle, a choice that is justified quantitatively through analysis of the thruster configuration matrix. The software architecture builds on the open source ArduSub, BlueOS, and Cockpit stack. A substantial portion of the prototype was built and validated in parallel with the design work. The structural components, electronics, and software were integrated into the drone prototype, and the 3D printed flanges were tested at a pressure of 5 bar without sustaining any mechanical damage.

Při obhajobě student nejprve prezentoval svoji diplomovou práci, následně byly přečteny posudky a student odpovídal na dotazy oponenta. Poté byly členy komise položeny následující otázky: Kudy pronikala kapalina? Podle čeho jste volili velkost kroužků? Jaké druhy výpočtů jste prováděl? Jak vypadá pohonná jednotka? Obhajoba byla komisí hodnocena jako výborná.
