This master's thesis focuses on the analysis and development of swirl atomizers, aiming to optimize the fuel system by replacing the current spill-return system with a simplified solution. The theoretical part provides an insight into atomization processes, followed by experimental research. In the initial phase, spray characteristics and velocity fields of the original atomizer were detailed using high-speed imaging and Phase Doppler Anemometry (PDA). Based on these reference data, two commercial variants were selected and tested, subsequently compared with the custom geometry design. To accelerate the development cycle, a method of scaled-up models (5:1) manufactured using SLA 3D printing technology was employed. The conclusion of the thesis assesses the validity of additive manufacturing for this type of application, evaluates the impact of printing quality on hydraulic precision, and defines characteristic dependencies for the tested models. Furthermore, it provides a comprehensive evaluation of the tested commercial atomizers, assessing their suitability for successful integration into the fuel system.

Studentka prezentovala svoji závěrečnou práci ve které řešila návrh startovacího atomizéru malého proudového motoru. V následné rozpravě studentka popisovala v jakých parametrech je nově navržená tryska lepší než komerčně vyráběné varianty a následně použitelnou výrobní technologii a výrobní náklady nově navržené trysky. Následná obecná rozprava se týkala aplikace trysky v reálných podmínkách, jejích návrhových parametrů, technologe její výroby a také experimentální části práce. Studentka otázky položené komisí zodpověděla.
