This bachelor’s thesis investigates changes in muscle contraction indicators depending on the duration of rest interval following submaximal loading. The theoretical part summarizes the physiological principles of muscle contraction and its relationship to sports performance. Furthermore, it analyzes the effects of acute and chronic loading on muscle adaptation and describes methodical approaches to strength development within the context of sports train- ing. The practical part was carried out in the form of an experimental protocol designed to monitor the effects of fatigue and post-activation potentiation (PAP) on the muscles of the upper and lower limbs following a submaximal strength stimulus (squat and biceps curl). The quantification of the mechanical and temporal properties of skeletal muscle was performed non-invasively using tensiomyography with the TMG-S2 device (Ljubljana, Slovenia) at regu- lar time intervals up to the 12th minute of recovery. The acquired data were processed and statistically analyzed using the Python 3.12 programming language. The evaluation focused on key parameters of muscle mechanics, particularly maximum radial displacement of the muscle belly (𝐷𝑚) and contraction time (𝑇𝑐). The results indicate a diametrically different recovery kinetics and PAP manifestations between the monitored muscle segments, providing practical insights for the optimization of rest intervals in strength training.

Student prezentoval výsledky své práce a komise byla seznámena s posudky. Doc. Ing. Mézl položil otázku, zda křivky uvedené v prezentaci představují průměrné hodnoty všech probandů, nebo příklad jednoho probanda, a jaká byla variabilita napříč testovaným vzorkem. Student obhájil bakalářskou práci a odpověděl na otázky členů komise a oponenta.
