Abstract:

This thesis deals with the assessment of existing prestressed reinforced-concrete pitched roof girders with a variable I-shaped cross-section in buildings D_06, D_07 and D_09 of the DELIMAX Hodonín site, originally designed in 1979, and with the design of a new girder as a replacement for selected members. The work describes the structural geometry, considers the influence of the 2000 roof refurbishment, and evaluates the effects of actions and prestressing including prestress losses.
Both the existing and the newly designed girder are considered as bonded prestressed structures. The thesis also presents the design of a new externally prestressed girder, including staged stressing and a feasible erection procedure, where stressing from midspan is considered with respect to assembly requirements.
