Course detail

Photography and Architecture

FA-FOA-NEAcad. year: 2027/2028

The course consists of two interconnected parts: a theoretical component and a practical component.

The theoretical component covers the history of architectural photography, its interpretation as a form of contemporary art and new media, and the representation of architects’ visions and architectural ideas through photography. It also addresses the composition and construction of the photographic image and photographic practice in the field.

The practical component focuses on individual photographic research and the development of a photographic collection. Students acquire basic technical skills in working with photographic equipment and explore contemporary digital photography as a technological and informational medium. This includes image capture, data management, digital image processing and post-production.

Students learn to observe, analyse and interpret architecture, developing their own approach to photographing and representing architectural space.
