Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

The course is completed with a classified credit, consisting of the following assessed components:

  • Project and its presentation (25 points)
  • Attendance at a relevant event and its presentation (15 points)
  • Practical sessions (20 points)
  • Written course credit test (40 points) – assessment of knowledge covering the entire course content

All assessed components are mandatory. To successfully complete the course, students must obtain at least 50 points.

Aims

The aim of the course is to introduce students to current trends, particularly in the areas of wearables, telemedicine, assistive technologies, and diagnostics in extreme conditions. For each topic, students will first become familiar with the fundamental, generally applicable principles of the given field and subsequently with current technologies used in that area. The course focuses on both Czech and world technologies. Part of the course content is devoted to future technologies, i.e. technologies that are currently at the research stage and have the potential for commercialization and broader application. Within practical sessions, students will have the opportunity to test selected technologies hands-on and critically evaluate their benefits, accuracy, and practical applicability. Another objective of the course is to motivate students to attend a relevant event focused on the use of modern technologies, in order to gain new knowledge in this rapidly developing field as well as to establish new professional contacts. The course develops teamwork skills through a project assignment focused on a real-world practical topic.
