In this course, students will become familiar with the basics of French pronunciation. They will learn the alphabet and master numbers from 0 to 1000. In the first lessons, they will learn the days of the week and months, and they will be able to introduce themselves. Later on, they will be able to say what they like/dislike, how old they are, where they live, where they are from, and what languages they speak. Students will be introduced to the indefinite and definite articles and will learn how to form the plural.
Students will be able to talk about their family and hobbies. They will also be introduced to possessive pronouns and learn vocabulary related to professions. In grammar, they will learn first-group verbs and basic irregular verbs.
The course places a strong emphasis on speaking and interaction, and includes listening exercises, videos, and games.

Week 3: Numbers 20–100; How old are you? Where are you from? Countries, cities + prepositions
Week 4: First-group verbs (parler, habiter)
Week 5: The verbs aimer and détester; What do I like? What do I enjoy doing?
Week 6: Indefinite and definite articles; plural form; il y a (there is/are)
Week 7: The verb to have (avoir); my family
Week 8: Talking about my family; possessive pronouns
Week 9: Professions and occupations; What do I want to be?
Week 10: Hobbies; conversing about my hobbies
Week 11: Review of first-group verbs + the verbs to be and to have
Week 12: Vocabulary review (Units 1 and 2)
Week 13: Review of Units 1 and 2; credit test (final test)
