The course broadens the basic knowledge acquired in the magister course „Dislocations and plastic deformation“. It focuses deeper on the mechanisms of material´s strengthening including mathematical description. Specific dislocation mechanisms in selected important engineering materials (steels, superalloys, aluminum alloys, TiAl intermetallics, hcp metals). Examples of the behavior of dislocations in other materials according to the focus of individual Ph.D. students.
