One of the final subjects of the program focuses on the principles of starting up and operating energy facilities and detecting and eliminating operational faults in individual components of energy units. Another topic is water treatment and boiler feeding. Last but not least, there is space devoted to the production, transformation, and transmission of electrical energy. An integral part of the program is familiarization with basic energy legislation.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course
Credit: participation in seminars and excursions held within the course and passing the subsequent test.Exam: successful completion of a point test from the basics of operation.Controlled participation in lessons: Exercises are compulsory. The student will be compensated for absence by agreement with the tutor. Lectures are optional.
Aims
Introduction to the basic operating conditions of power plants, start-up and shutdown, application of reliability theory and concepts of reliability information systems and maintenance systems. Students will be introduced to the basics of power plant chemistry, water treatment equipment in the power industry, and operational control of chemical regimes. Another goal is to introduce electrical components of power plants such as motors, alternators, transformers, and transmission systems, including their control.
