Business Idea Development

The course focuses on developing students' business ideas and their commercialization. It also aims to provide an objective assessment of these ideas, their development, testing, and market launch. The course includes the development of a business team, self-assessment, and self-development.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

Students will work in teams. Assessment will be based on a multi-criteria evaluation of both team performance and each student's personal contribution to the results achieved. Assessment takes place throughout the semester (60 points) and is based on the final presentation and defense (40 points). The final defense takes place during the final evaluation days, which include team, project, and individual assessments.

Students thus have the opportunity to earn a total of 100 points. The key activities and areas of assessment are: development of a business idea/project, research and analysis necessary for the development of the idea, team development, self-assessment and self-development, defense of the study group's team project, preparation for the establishment of a team company.

Participation in team exercises and other activities is mandatory, monitored, and included in the final assessment. The exercises are directly linked to the exercises in the Marketing and Management courses. Students may miss a maximum of five activities per semester, including any activities taking place during the exam period. It is not possible to miss the final presentation and defense. For each such absence, two points will be deducted from the final score. These five absences can be compensated for by an additional project and assignments given by the instructor. These assignments will only be possible in agreement with the instructor during the credit week.
ABSENCES EXCEEDING 5 TEAM EXERCISES/ACTIVITIES will result in a FAILURE to complete the course.

Students with individual study plans prepare and defend a project assigned by their teacher.

Aims

The aim of the course is to develop and commercialize a business idea. Students will be encouraged to realize the connection between decisions in individual areas of the business "agenda", their mutual impacts and links to the deveopment of the business idea.
Students will be encouraged to be creative and flexible in responding to the development of internal and external corporate environments and factors that hinder the development of a business idea.



Students will be able to creatively and flexibly develop their business idea in a constantly changing market environment. Furthermore, they will learn methods and techniques for successful commercialization and development of other key areas related to the development of a business idea.
