The course aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of robotic 3D printing in the context of art and design, focusing on both the technical and creative aspects of this innovative technology. Students will deepen their knowledge of classical 3D printing and understand how its principles can be extended and applied through robotic systems. An important component is an introduction to robot kinematics, which includes an understanding of the movement capabilities and limitations of robots, as well as an analysis of how these factors affect design and manufacturing processes. Students will learn to adapt design concepts to the possibilities and limits of robotic printing, prepare data for robotic systems, and optimize print strategy trajectories. At the same time, the training is directed towards understanding future trends in digital fabrication and their application in the professional practice of the artist or designer.

Entry knowledge
Basic knowledge of working with a personal computer, ability to navigate in virtual space, patience and discretion. Experience with 3D printing and Rhinoceros/Grasshopper software is desirable. Basic English, manual dexterity.
3D Printing and Digital Fabrication for Creative Industries 2 and Rhinoceros 2 - Generative Design in Grasshopper are recommended.
