Course detail
FEKT-BPC-ELAAcad. year: 2025/2026
The course focuses on propagation of sound through the environment, basic quantities and relationships of the sound field, physiological and psychological acoustics, directional and spatial hearing, effect of noise on humans and its measurement, structure and use of sound level meter, acoustics of enclosed spaces, measurement of reverberation time and impulse response of space, fundamentals of electromechanical and electroacoustic analogies, types and principles of operation of electroacoustic transducers, microphones, loudpeakers and headphones and their practical implementation and measurement of characteristics, loudspeaker systems and sound reinforcement in small rooms and large spaces, stereophonic and multi-channel reproduction. The numerical exercises are focused on the calculations of acoustic quantities and their levels and the addition of acoustic pressure of coherent and incoherent sound waves. Laboratory exercises are focused on practical measurements of the loudness of sound sources, room acoustics, properties and characteristics of electroacoustic devices, and the design and measurement of loudspeaker system.
