Bachelor Thesis

Individual work of the student in solving a professional problem with the help of the supervisor. The topic of the bachelor thesis is usually chosen by the student from the offer of the given study programme already in the winter semester of the given academic year as a semester project and is finally specified and bindingly assigned at the beginning of the summer semester.

Entry knowledge

Knowledge at the level of the current bachelor's degree is required. Work in the laboratory is subject to a valid qualification of "instructed person", which students must obtain before starting classes. Information on this qualification is provided in the Dean's Directive on Familiarizing Students with Safety Regulations.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

The thesis supervisor awards credit for work completed in accordance with the assignment, submitted within the specified deadline, and assesses the correctness of the solution and the quality of the work (formal requirements). The thesis supervisor and the opponent prepare an assessment, which includes a point evaluation of the work. The assessment may also take into account the assessment of a potential consultant. The assessments are submitted for the thesis defense. The control is based on regular individual consultations between the student and the thesis supervisor.

Aims

The aim of the course is for students to elaborate an individual technical BSc project in conclusion of their BSc studies. Students choose the theme of the project from a list of themes offered by the respective Department.
After course completion, students will be able to:
- independently develop a technical project,
- write a technical report for the project,
- defend the project.
