Learning outcomes of the course unit

After completing the course, students should be able to:
- transform and simplify expressions;
- solve basic equations and inequalities;
- find the domain and the range of a function;
- differentiate using basic formulas;
- work with complex numbers.

Prerequisites

Students should have at least superficial knowledge of work with expressions and elementary functions within the scope of standard secondary school requirements.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

For the course-unit credit it is necessary to meet the following conditions: complete all quizzes to 100%, submit preparation for the seminar.  Details are described in Elearning module in the course "Matematický seminář (BPC-MAS 22/23Z)".

2. Vector algebra and analytical geometry.
3. Systems of equations.
4. Conversions of algebraic expressions and equations.
5. Solving inequalities.
6. Elementary functions.
7. Limits.
8. Derivatives.
9. Integrals.
10. Complex numbers 1.
11. Complex numbers 2.
12. Sequences and series.
13. Recapitulation.

Aims

The goal of the course is to supplement secondary school knowledge of mathematics necessary for further studies.
