The aim of the course is to introduce students to selected issues of business relations with an international element, legal regulation of international business transactions, dispute resolution, competition regulation, corporate law and legal regulation in relation to consumer protection.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will be made familiar with business relations with an international element, they will acquire appropriate terminology and will be able to work with international contracts.

Prerequisites

General overview in the scope of knowledge of undergraduate undergraduate studies.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching takes the form of two-hour lectures. The lecture includes a presentation of the basic concepts and principles and illustrative examples.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

No credit is given.
The examination is written. The written examination consists of closed questions. The ISP conditions are the same. Knowledge of the material covered is tested. Classification is carried out in accordance with the directive of the Faculty of Business at the BUT. A minimum of 50% of the points is required to pass the examination. Participation in the examination is compulsory.

Introduction to international commercial law.
International elements in commercial relations, legal regulation in the field of international commercial relations
Dispute resolution and enforcement of decisions in international commercial relations.
Legal persons, transfer of registered office, European company, European Economic Interest Grouping.
International purchase of goods.
INCOTERMS and their importance in international trade.
Payments and payment of obligations in international trade. Documentary methods of payment. Security of payment.
Investment law. Investor protection against nationalization and expropriation.
Intellectual property law and the International Licensing Treaty
The impact of computerization and the Internet on the field of international commercial law. Consumer protection in international trade.
International transport treaty
Protection of competition

The aim of the course is to introduce students with selected issues of business relations with the international element, legal regulation of international business transactions, dispute resolution, competition regulation, business corporation law and consumer protection.
