Course detail

Reliability 2

FSI-XS2Acad. year: 2019/2020

The subject is focused on the most advanced knowledge of reliability, and the subject is an extension of Reliability I subject. Attention is also paid to some selected subjects, which are specified in the syllabus. This may be flexibly changed and modified during lectures, both in contents and in scope, according to the student requirements.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

A student will extend his theoretical knowledge of reliability which can apply in industrial mechanical/electrical engineering practice to solve different problems related to the aforementioned topics.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of mathematics and physics at a level of university study. Also, the knowledge of the aforementioned special field in a scope of the previous bachelor study and Reliability I subject is expected.

Co-requisites

Not applicable.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Exercises are focused on practical topics presented in lectures.
According to the possibility of teaching can be organized lectures for students by practitioners and excursions to companies focused on activities related to the course content.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The course is taught through lectures and exercises. Exercises are mandatory. The course is completed by graded credit. 100% attendance and activity at seminars is required for its acquisition. At the end of the semester, a written test is realized in lectures and exercises. There is also prescribed a presentation within the exercises on the topic that each student chooses at the beginning of the semester. Students can earn up to 100 points from these prescribed activities. The overall credit assessment is given by the ECTS grading scale.

Aims

The objective of the subject is to acquire the knowledge of reliability. The subject continues in Reliability I subject as well as Principles of Reliability in the framework of the bachelor’s study.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

The student attendance is checked in tutorials (presence and activity). The 100% participation in tutorials is required, and in case of absence, the student will be obliged to compensate, the alternative attendance will be specified by the lecturer.
