Advanced bioanalytical methods

By dissuasions and consultations, students will be familiarized with advanced analytical techniques employed for analysis of biological samples. The focus will be on preparative and analytical separation techniques, advanced spectroscopic techniques, immunochemical methods, molecular techniques, bioinformatics, genetics, transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course uses teaching methods in form of individual consultation. The e-learning system (LMS Moodle) is available to teachers and students.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The exam is in form of discussion on selected topic. Student should prove knowledge in selected topics with overlap to relevant applied fields.

Bioinformatic analysis, application of genotypic techniques, polyphasic approach.
Analysis of gene expression.
Analysis of non-culturable microrganisms using metagenomics
Single cell analysisi and manipulation
Advanced spectroscopical techniques for analysis of biological samples
Advanced chromatography and electrophoresis for analysis of biological materials
Preparation, isolation, pufrification and characterization of proteins.
Utilization of advanced fluorescent techniques for analysis of biological samples
Analytical imunochemistry
Genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics
