Individual work with students according to the theme of diploma thesis.
Literature retrieval for theme of diploma thesis entry.
The study of literature on the basis of background research.
Solved task consultation. The aim of diploma thesis solving.
Methodology of working up a diploma thesis.
Preparing of experiment including the measurement project and result evaluation.
Execution of experiment, evaluation of results and comparison with the theoretic model of experiment.
Evaluation of influences on results accuracy.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Development of a basic outline of the thesis as stated in the specifications. Initial training orientation for separate processing problems solved according to the branch the final thesis. Optimization of design methodology and implementation of the experimental part of the thesis in the field of testing and diagnostics of building structures. Numerical modeling, assessment, design and evaluation of structures in the field of statics and dynamics of buildings. Analytical evaluation of the outcomes of experimental and numerical analysis of solved problems.

Prerequisites

The basic properties of building materials, methods of testing physical and mechanical properties of construction materials, basic diagnostic methods of assessment of structures, design and evaluation of structures according to applicable standards

Co-requisites

Methods of experimental analysis of structures, methods of numerical analysis of structures, methods of reliability analysis of structures

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Individual study according to the results of ongoing consultation with the teacher. Continuous presentation of results according to the final thesis. A critical discussion of the solution in the presence of a group of students and teacher leadership.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Attendance in terms of schedule. Active participation in critical discussion of common problems solved. Presentation of the results of a separate entry form oral defense.

Student preparation for easy diploma work elaborating, realization of the experimental part of diploma thesis and consultation of analytic evaluation.
