Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students understand principles of traffic flow phenomena, and they get knowledge of traffic engineering methods. They are able to collect traffic data. They know capacity calculations.
The basic issues are: Principles of traffic engineering, traffic flow theory, traffic data collection and processing, capacity calculations.

Prerequisites

Text processing, spreadsheets, elementary knowledge of CAD, mathematics, physics.

Co-requisites

Not applicable.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.
Lessons are the basic form of education and they provide explanation and theoretical base for studied issue. Practical examples are solved in exercises. Texts, writtten materials, standards, manuals, instructions etc. are provided in LMS Moodle as well as and homework exercises are submitted in Moodle.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Practises are finished with a credit classification with condition of adequate attendance (max two absences), supply of all computational exercises.
Required knowledge is tested in written form.
