A student is introduced works, which is comonly used in railway tracks. The student acquires knowledges about mechanisms used during these works. The student also acquires do technological procedure of works. The student is also introduced in maintanance of ralway tracks. The student is introduced in reneval and maintanance of switches and crossings too.

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

The course is completed with a credit and exam. Acquisition of the credit is conditional on attendance, delivery of a design of technological procedure of works of particular track section.
Exam is practical verification knowledges of commonly used machines and technological procedures of works.

1. Construction of transport structures, fundamentals of track technologies.
2. Construction demands and parameters of track machines.
3. Hand-held equipment for maintenance of rails, sleepers, rail fastening.
4. Hand-held equipment for for justification geometry components and track alignment, other hand-held equipment.
5. Geometry deterioration, reasons and remedial actions.
6. Special vehicles for person transport and material transport.
7. Machines for removing of snow and vegetation.
8. Machines for maintenance and renewal of railway superstructure, ballast cleaners.
9. Tamping machines, machines for sleeper replacing, ballast regulators.
10. Compacting machines for ballast bed and dynamic track stabilizer.
11. Welding machines, rail grinding machines, rail reprofiling machines.
12. Machines for maintenance and renewal of railway substructure.
13. Measuring and diagnostic systems. Complete technology for track maintenance and renewal.

The objective of the subject is to introduce students to the problems of construction of transport structures, fundamentals of track technologies, machines, measuring and diagnostic systems and to practise acquires knowledge and skills.

Extent and forms are specified by guarantor’s regulation updated for every academic year.

A student can attend conferences, workshops or excursions focused on railway structures.
