Diploma Thesis Seminar

Entering the diploma thesis project, familiarisation with the principles and guidelines for thesis preparation, literature search, and tutorials on external workplaces and processing of the thesis project plan. Seminar - students will report on the results obtained while working on their diploma thesis projects. During the semester, all students will be giving reports.
The course is aimed at acquiring knowledge and skills in technical expression which should result in writing the thesis. The essential idea of course is not only to deepen the students’ knowledge in the area of information resource searching, literature, data searching, the accuracy of quotations, but also to plan the whole process of the thesis and to familiarize them with the key principles of its formal and contents levels. To acquaint them with the latest methodologies and theories in the area of thesis writing and to teach them the principles of effective presentation of technical results and the defence of their own opinion.

To acquire of the ability to handle summarised literature search and the basics of chemical safety, crisis management and civil protection for the occasion of diploma thesis elaboration.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Based on the recommendation of the diploma thesis supervisor; presentation of the theoretical part of the thesis is a part of the credit.

3. Literature search. Information sources, the structure of literature search and formal requirements
