On the project

Current interventional methods for treatment of metal stent occlusion are limited by the technical possibilities of endoluminal ablation tools and methods of mechanical recanalization. The project deals with the treatment of metal stent occlusion using non-thermal ablation techniques – irreversible electroporation and high frequency irreversible electroporation and applying that on numerous of hydrogel based and ex vivo tissue models. The histopathological analysis of tissue models after ablation and measurements of tissue model properties will be compared with computer simulations of electric field, thermal changes and extent of ablation. The aim of the project is to establish methodology for recanalization of occluded metal stents in clinical practice.

Description in Czech
Současné aktivní metody řešení okluze metalických stentů jsou neefektivní, limitovány technickými možnostmi endoluminálních ablačních nástrojů nebo mechanických způsobů rekanalizace. Projekt se zabývá možnostmi řešení okluze metalického stentu pomocí netermálních ablačních technik – ireverzibilní elektroporace a vysokofrekvenční ireverzibilní elektroporace, aplikované na množství hydrogelových ex vivo tkáňových modelů. Histopatologická analýza tkáňových modelů po ablaci a měření vlastností tkáňových modelů bude porovnána s počítačovými simulacemi elektrického pole, tepelnými změnami a rozsahem ablace. Cílem projektu je stanovení metodiky rekanalizace uzavřených kovových stentů v klinické praxi.
