Practical Guide
BUT provides students' accommodation at its own dormitories and halls of residence.The amenities and furnishing might differ as some rooms are equipped with their own bathroom and toilet, while others come with shared bathroom units for a certain number of rooms.
Students can use a study room, TV room, bicycle room, and music room with a piano at their disposal. All student halls are equipped with laundries and dryers.
The premises offer various sports facilities such as gyms, pool tables, table tennis equipment, and other sports facilities of the Center of Sports Activities.
There are approximately 6 100 beds available. International students are accommodated on campus "Pod Palackého vrchem".

The dorms are not for you? You didn't get in? Wanna try something else? Go private! You can find rooms and flats through an agency or on your own, usually via Facebook groups.
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR STUDENTS FROM 3rd COUNTRIES: Students who apply for a Czech visa will also need an accommodation contract or confirmation of a future contract to submit at the embassy to be included in the visa process! Therefore, you should communicate this necessity with the property owner as soon as possible to receive your visa on time, thus before the beginning of the semester.
Those who're staying for more than 3 months are obliged to pay the waste collection fee: a basic fee of 670 CZK (approx 26 EUR) per payer for the calendar year. More information here: https://en.brno.cz/w/waste-tax
Students are entitled to receive the accommodation scholarship if they are:
Students can apply for an accommodation scholarship online. The instructions on how to apply for the accommodation scholarship will be provided to all students by e-mail at the beginning of the semester after their arrival. The scholarship is paid to students to their student bank account in CZK.
