Department of Project Support and Knowledge Transfer

Competence


Two Sections are defined within the Department: the Project Support Section and the Knowledge Transfer Section.

The Project Support Section ensures in particular:

  • methodological support for all units of BUT in the preparation, implementation and sustainability of projects, and expert assistance to applicants,
  • the methodology of the internal review of project proposals with an emphasis on the elimination of possible errors,
  • the creation of conditions for increasing the success rate of BUT in competing for project financing
  • the provision and development of cooperation with subsidy providers and related expert and financial partners
  • the register of all projects submitted and implemented at BUT,
  • the production of analyses and reports on the state of the BUT project portfolio for the needs of the BUT management.
  • the verification of information in the Register of „de minimis“ Aid,
  • the drawing up and updating of the internal ordinances of BUT for the area of project support and project management,
  • the identification of subsidy opportunities for projects,
  • the analysis of the conditions of project frameworks and calls, of financing conditions and of the eligibility of costs,
  • the coordination of the internal submission and approval of project proposals for submission and the related circulation of documentation,
  • the provision of source documents for addressing the findings of internal and external inspections,
  • communication with managing authorities and the transfer of information to project teams,
  • the transfer of project experience to project teams,
  • administers selected central projects of BUT.

The Knowledge Transfer Section ensures in particular:

  • the coordination of activities and support for the faculties and units in the administration of the intellectual property of the university, including the related analytical activities,
  • market analysis and the identification of commercial opportunities for the commercial use of intellectual property in mutual cooperation with the faculties and units, including ensuring the valuation of the commercial potential of the individual results of the creative activities of BUT,
  • administrative and methodological support for the establishment of start-up and spin-off companies of BUT, including the drawing up of proposals for a possible equity participation of BUT in such companies, including the subsequent administration of such equity holdings of BUT,
  • the active identification of, and administrative and methodological support for, employee and student initiatives with commercial potential,
  • the drawing up of specifications for and the administration of the part of the Information System comprising the „Inventions and Copyright Works (OTT)“ and „Intellectual Property“ modules, including the review of the accuracy and completeness of the data entered therein,
  • the provision of training and advice to the staff and students of BUT in the area of the administration and protection of intellectual property, knowledge transfer and the commercialisation of intellectual property,
  • the preparation of source documents for and the coordination of the activities of the BUT Industrial Board,
  • the provision and development of cooperation with chambers of commerce, technology parks, innovation centres and others, including cooperation in matters of support for technical education.

The Knowledge Transfer Section is entitled to use the designation Knowledge Transfer Centre when acting externally.
