Facility Management Department

Competence

Eight Sections are defined within the Department:

  • the Building Administration Section,
  • the BUT Tržnice Centre Administration Section.
  • the Facility Services Section,
  • the University Retail Section,
  • the Smart Buildings Section,
  • the Security Management Section,
  • the Transport Services Section, and
  • the Sustainability Section.

The Building Administration Section ensures in particular:

  • the administration, i.e. the operation, cleaning, maintenance and repair of the immovable property and facilities of the university not entrusted to the administration of a particular faculty or other unit (hereinafter the „BUT Premises“),
  • the evaluation of the effectiveness of the methods of administering the BUT Premises,
  • the offer of temporarily unused areas and spaces in the BUT Premises to third parties,
  • the provision of mandatory (statutory) inspections and revisions in the BUT Premises,
  • special winter maintenance and the care of greenery in the BUT Premises,
  • technical assistance to the faculties and units of BUT.

The BUT Tržnice Centre Administration Section ensures in particular:

  • the administration, i.e. the operation, cleaning, maintenance and repair of the BUT spaces in the Tržnice building
  • the delivery of the events planned in the Centre,
  • support for the Department of Marketing in the use of the Centre for the promotional purposes of the university.

The Facility Services Section ensures in particular:

  • the provision of the purchase of goods and services – the ordering point for the BUT Rector's Office,
  • the administration of leases in the BUT Premises,
  • space management – monitoring the use of the BUT Premises and their available capacity and managing the allocation of premises to the units of BUT,
  • the administration of the equipment of the BUT Premises, including the provision of removals and the stocktaking of such equipment,
  • support for and operational coordination of events organised in the BUT Premises,
  • the development, operation, maintenance, repair, installation, disposal, servicing of and advice on information technology for the BUT Rector's Office,
  • the registration and publication of contracts falling within the agenda of the Department.

The University Retail Section ensures in particular:

  • the administration of the BUT e-shop,
  • the administration of the promotional items of BUT and their sale.

The University Retail Section is entitled to use the designation BUT Retail Centre when acting externally.

The Smart Buildings Section ensures in particular:

  • the administration of automated building management systems and of measurement and control systems,
  • the administration of the passportisation of buildings and technologies,
  • the register of the immovable property of BUT
  • the management of energy management,
  • the purchase of energy and utilities and the cost optimisation of consumption.

The Security Management Section ensures in particular:

  • security management (the physical and technical security of persons, buildings and technical equipment),
  • support for the crisis management of BUT,
  • the management of occupational health and safety and of fire protection, including the related training,
  • waste management, including the register of municipal waste,
  • the agenda of property and liability insurance,
  • training relating to the agendas of the Department (professional training, induction training, driver training, etc.).

The Transport Services Section ensures in particular:

  • the transport of persons and cargo according to the needs of the workplaces of BUT,
  • domestic and international transport at times when it is not fully occupied by its main activity,
  • the administration, maintenance and renewal of the vehicle fleet, including the related registers and administration,
  • transport dispatch services for BUT.

The Sustainability Section ensures in particular:

  • the coordination and methodological management of the sustainable development of the university,
  • the preparation of source documents and reporting in the area of ESG and sustainability
  • organises educational and awareness-raising activities for employees and students, supports the incorporation of the principles of sustainability into teaching and research, and ensures cooperation with the faculties, partner institutions and external organisations.

The Sustainability Section is entitled to use the designation Sustainability Centre when acting externally.
