The prestigious university ball returns to the Brno Exhibition Centre after a year. On Friday, December 12, Pavilion P will come alive with the ninth edition of the BUT Ball, the largest social event of its kind in the Czech Republic. This year's theme is the Realm of Wonders – a symbol of a world where imagination and technology go hand in hand. “When choosing the theme, we started from the idea that in the realm of wonders, nothing is impossible. Just like in science and technology. Wonders have accompanied us throughout the existence of humankind. At the beginning, there has always been human imagination – whether we talk about pyramids, submarines, electricity, chips, or rockets. New discoveries keep amazing us and will continue to do so,” explained Anna Kruljacová, the main organizer, and added: “For the third year in a row, the ball loosely follows the university’s strategic focus areas. Over the years, the gala evening has become a key social event of BUT, and therefore, as alumni-organizers, we feel the need to convey through the ball a higher value than just the experience of a beautiful evening in unique surroundings.” Last year, the event danced on the edge of the unknown, and the year before that, it transported visitors into a world of spells and magic. The popular gala evening for engineers, attended by over 3,600 guests every year, has in recent years received several awards from event industry professionals at the annual awards of the Czech Event Association. This year, too, it is being organized by BUT alumni in cooperation with students of our alma mater. Each year, the event is attended by alumni, students, employees, partners, and friends of the university. Ticket sales will start on November 10 at 19:00 via GoOut.
