Take Advantage of EULiST Summer Schools and Mobility Opportunities

Students, doctoral candidates, and early-career researchers from Brno University of Technology (BUT) can once again benefit from a wide range of international opportunities offered through the European university alliance EULiST. In addition to more than 270 funded research mobility opportunities for early-career researchers, applications are currently open for two international summer schools organised by the partner institution, Leibniz University Hannover.

International Summer School on Microelectronics (ISSOM26)

Date: 31 August – 4 September 2026
Location: Hannover, Germany
Application deadline: 14 July 2026
Target group: senior undergraduate students, master's students, and doctoral candidates interested in microelectronics and chip design
Participation fee: free of charge
Travel support: grants of up to EUR 375 available

Microelectronics is one of today's key enabling technologies, underpinning a broad range of applications, from mobile devices and autonomous vehicles to medical technologies and artificial intelligence systems. The International Summer School on Microelectronics (ISSOM26) will provide participants with an opportunity to explore the entire chip lifecycle, from design to practical applications.

The programme, organised by Leibniz University Hannover, combines expert lectures, hands-on workshops, and networking opportunities with students and researchers from across Europe. Participants will gain insights into current trends in chip design and microelectronic systems while building valuable international connections.

Knowledge Graphs for Water Management Summer School

Date: 13–19 September 2026
Location: Hannover, Germany
Application deadline: 15 July 2026
Target group: doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers in environmental sciences, water management, and data science
Financial support: EULiST scholarships cover all participation costs, including travel, accommodation, and meals

This summer school, focused on the use of knowledge graphs in water management, offers an intensive programme combining theory, practical training, and international collaboration. Participants will explore methods for integrating and sharing data across different sources and disciplines and gain insight into the application of semantic technologies to environmental challenges.

The programme includes expert lectures, case studies, field visits, and collaborative project work. No prior experience with semantic technologies is required. In addition, participants from EULiST member universities will have their travel, accommodation, and meal expenses fully covered.

More Than 270 Research Mobility Opportunities for Early-Career Researchers

In addition to the summer schools, doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers can take advantage of more than 270 funded mobility opportunities available within the EULiST alliance until the end of 2026. The programme offers short-term research stays lasting from one to three months, as well as professional internships at partner universities.

The aim of these mobility opportunities is to foster new international research collaborations, support the development of professional competencies, and facilitate the preparation of future research projects. Participation also provides valuable experience working within international research teams and helps expand professional networks.
