Brno University of Technology (BUT) hosted a delegation of representatives from Thai universities associated within CUPT (Council of University Presidents of Thailand). The meeting was attended by members of BUT’s university management as well as representatives of individual faculties. The aim of the discussions was to explore concrete opportunities for long-term cooperation in the areas of education, research, innovation, and the mobility of students and academic staff. Representatives of individual faculties then took the floor to briefly present their fields of expertise, research priorities, and potential intersections with the focus areas of the Thai institutions. The discussion also addressed practical topics, including visa-related issues in connection with the mobility of students and academic staff.
During the meeting, both sides appreciated the distinctly multidisciplinary composition of the delegation, which opens up opportunities for cooperation across technical, natural science, and artistic disciplines. At the conclusion of the official programme, both sides confirmed their interest in further developing mutual relations and extended invitations to visit partner institutions. The meeting laid the foundations for further discussions on joint projects, mobility programmes, and strategic cooperation between BUT and Thai universities.
