The University-wide Doctoral School of BUT has successfully concluded its pilot run, which took place from 19 September 2025 to 12 December 2025. This new educational platform offers doctoral students across all faculties interdisciplinary networking, development of key competencies, and support in both scientific and professional work,

The programme is designed to complement discipline-specific doctoral studies and to help participants better navigate topics such as publishing activities, research data management, project and research activities, teamwork, research leadership, and personal and career development. The thematic structure of the school also supports the sharing of experience among doctoral students from different fields and contributes to the creation of a university-wide academic community with a broader perspective.

The University-wide Doctoral School is implemented under the auspices of the Vice-Rector for Continuing Education and Quality Vítězslav Máša. The main organisational and expert leadership is provided by Martina Repková, who is supported in both the preparation and implementation of the programme by Marek Lauermann. Great thanks also go to all lecturers who contribute to the thematic blocks and help ensure the programme’s professional quality.

The pilot run will be followed by a further edition of the University-wide Doctoral School in the winter semester, which will again offer doctoral students space for systematic skills development, interdisciplinary networking, and the sharing of good practice.
