When the statues bloom: FFA exhibition connects art and nature again

This year again, the unique collaboration between the Faculty of Fine Arts at Brno University of Technology and the Faculty of Science at Masaryk University continues. The exhibition Sculptures Among Flowers, created by students of the Sculpture Studio, will be on display in the MUNI Botanical Garden from tomorrow until the end of September.

This is already the eighth edition of this unique inter-university cooperation. The sculptures created by students of FFA under the guidance of Michal Gabriel and Tomáš Medek will be freely accessible to the public from July 1 to September 30. The individual artworks will be installed in both the outdoor areas and greenhouses of the botanical garden, which is open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The collaboration is the result of an initiative by Magdalena Chytrá, the head of the Botanical Garden, who approached FFA with the wish to integrate the garden into the cultural life of the city of Brno. The exhibition Sculptures Among Flowers has thus become part of the many short-term exhibitions that take place in the botanical garden throughout the year.
