Summer School of Sports Technology introduced sport from a different perspective
Summer School of Sports Technology introduced sport from a different perspective
At the beginning of the last week of June, the 3rd edition of the Summer School of Sports Technologies took place at Centre of Sports Activities at Brno University of Technology.
The event welcomed fourteen high school students from the Czech Republic and Slovakia, who came to BUT to try working with modern technologies used for monitoring human movement.

The students were introduced to the Motion Capture system, which analyzes human movement. They measured their athletic performance at the stadium using small wearable electronics, examined heart rate, and explored the body's ability to process oxygen.

At the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication, which co-organized the summer school, the participants worked with biosignals and measured pressure distribution using insole sensors.

“The Summer School is a great opportunity to introduce prospective students to the BUT environment and give them a glimpse into university studies,” said Václav Kundera, coordinator of the Summer School of Sports Technologies. The event attracts potential students to BUT and presents the Sports Technologies study program and the sports-oriented facilities of the university in a simplified and engaging way.
