2. round (applications submitted from 11.11.2013 to 13.12.2013)

  1. Decreasing of impact of CSO´s on receiving water.

The goal of the thesis is impact of CSO´s on receiving water. In frame of work critical evaluation of literature will be carried out. In practical part measurement on systém of CSO´s at selected network will be worked out. For evaluation model SIMBA will be used. Contribution of the work will be metodology of control od systém of CSO´s.

Supervisor: Hlavínek Petr, prof. Ing., CSc., MBA

  2. Numerical Modelling of Free Surface Flows

Work will deal with numerical modelling of hydrodynamic phenomenon with a goal to verify factual and numerical accuracy of flows in watermanagement structures – especially chutes, stilling basins and spillways – and their comparison with physical research. Focus lays on influence wind waves on spillway capacity and consequent effects on chutes and stilling basin.

Supervisor: Jandora Jan, prof. Ing., Ph.D.

  3. Optimization of design and operation of final clarifiers.

Goal of the thesis is solution of activated sludge separation. In the frame of research problems of final clarifiers hydraulic with high sludge concentration will be solved. Impact of inflow, flocculation area, depth of settling tank, buffers and water withdrawal will be examined. Research will be conducted on circular settling tanks and verified on real WWTP´s.

Supervisor: Hlavínek Petr, prof. Ing., CSc., MBA

  4. Use of algae for purification of wastewater with high content of nutrients.

Goal of the project is use of microalgae for purification of wastewater with high content of nutrients. Dissertation will be carried on research projects in cooperation with research center AdMaS and company Photon Systems Instruments. In the frame of research problems of process dimensioning and nutrients harvesting from algae will be solved. Results will be verified on real wastewaters.

Supervisor: Hlavínek Petr, prof. Ing., CSc., MBA
