Original title in Czech: Přesná mechanika a optikaFSIAbbreviation: M-PMOAcad. year: 2013/2014

Programme: Applied Sciences in Engineering

Length of Study: 2 years

Accredited from: Accredited until: 31.12.2020

Profile

The aim of this study program is to provide absolvent of bachelor study programs (preferably of mechanical engineering) with knowledge from the field of fine mechanics and optics. On these fields are based the modern scientific instruments and biomedical equipments, moreover these fields are considerably involved in creation and development of automated systems. The subjects of the study program are devoted to deepening the knowledge in physics, especially in photonics and particle optics. They also include courses devoted to construction, realization and application of high-tech devices used in the presented fields.

Occupational profiles of graduates with examples

The graduates can prove themselves:

  • at companies engaged in development, design and production of optical and measuring instruments and devices
  • at research and development laboratories
  • at biomedical positions
  • at laboratories testing the products quality working in frame of enterprises or public utilities
  • at facilities monitoring living environment
  • at facilities, where automated data analysis and processing is required

Successful and scientifically oriented MSc. graduates in this specialization can continue their studies in the four-years doctoral study programe Physical and Materials Engineering and acquire the PhD degree.
