The ability of the doctoral student of an independent scientific work on the selected topic, familiarity with scientific work methodology, especially the problem analysis and synthesis of the findings and its creative application in the proposed solution.

The graduate is ready for an independent scientific and research work in the field of architecture and urban design theory, is able to solve practical problems in the field of architecture and urban design independently and at a scientific level, publishes outcomes of both practical and theoretical activities, also in any of the world languages, is able to teach at a higher-education institution.

Entry requirements

The master degree qualification in the branch of architecture or similar achieved at a higher-education institution in the Czech Republic or a school of architecture abroad.
Passing successfully the admission examination during which the applicant proves his/her interest and expert knowledge for a research work.

  1. Aspects of housing in high-rise buildings

    The optimal solution to the impending high-floor administrative one functional new administrative centers in large cities - insertion and function of housing is due to its specific aspects of the current challenge not only for developers, but especially for architects. The work will lead to defining the potential dispositions of high-rise buildings to create a residential environment in the current quality standards, mapping the experience of Czech and foreigner modeling and verification on the selected types.

    According to analysis of important european projects of new czech city suburbs will be assesed urban structures and prepare a methodology of cooperation between self-government, architect/urbanist and developer.

    According to analysis of important european projects of new czech city suburbs will be assesed and define living space and determine its potential.

  4. Contemporary methods in architectural design

    The need for a new tool-set and a new mind-set in the architectural design is driven by the need for application of new scientific knowledge in order to design efficient and environmentally friendly buildings.

  5. Development of the typology of urban housing

    Housing is an important phenomenon that significanty affects the typology of cities. The work will be focused on the historical influence of housing on the creation of urban residential environment and on contemporary trends in the field of architectural design.

  6. Photorealistic representation architectural scenes

  7. Sustainable building through off-grid systems and material recycling

    View on sustainable building through building independent houses without being connected to the network technical infrastructure. Step to the sustainability using recycling materials.
