Issued topics of Doctoral Study Program

  1. Application of virtual reality technologies in the process of product quality assurance.

PhD thesis will focus on analysis of the possible applications of 3D-virtual reality technologies in the field of product quality assurance (esp. production machines) in the early phases of their development. It will include proposal of a methodology for early identification of design and construction shortcomings in pre-production stages of product development. Partial objectives include: - analysis of suitability of 3D virtual reality technology for support of real application in the field of product quality assurance; - performance of pilot analysis of quality in immersion environment of 3D virtual reality in a selected production machine; - elaboration of a methodology for application of virtual reality technology in pre-production stages of the quality assurance process.

Supervisor: Blecha Petr, doc. Ing., Ph.D., FEng.

  2. Application of virtual reality technology in assessing the ergonomical parameters of production machines.

PhD thesis will focus on development of a methodology for application of 3D-virtual reality technologies in verification of ergonomic parameters of production machines, mainly from the viewpoint of their easy operation and maintenance. Attention will be paid especially to verification of reach areas and visual fields of users. Partial objectives include: - analysis of readiness of 3D-virtual reality technology to support real applications in the field of ergonomics; - performance of a pilot ergonomical analysisof a selected production machine in immersion environment of 3D virtual reality; - development of methodology for application of virtual reality technologies in the field of verification of ergonomic parameters of prototypes with the use of 3D models.

Supervisor: Blecha Petr, doc. Ing., Ph.D., FEng.

  3. Impact of human factors on production facilities safety

PhD thesis is focused on development of methodology for evaluating the impact of human factors on safety and production quality of complex production facilities and processes, from the perspective of their safe operation. Attention will be paid especially to ensuring the functional safety of industrial facilities and processes. Partial objectives include: - Identification of hazards arising from the expected behavior of the operators of complex production facilities and manufacturing processes, - Impact analysis of used technology on workplace ergonomics, - Development of methodology for evaluating the impact of human factors on safety of complex production facilities and processes.

Supervisor: Blecha Petr, doc. Ing., Ph.D., FEng.

  4. Potential of energy reduction in manufacturing company

PhD thesis will focus on application of the current scientific knowledge (in the field of resource efficiency) in identification of energetic interrelations in production company. The thesis will include a proposal of methodology for planning and control in company covering both the aspect of effective use of energy resources/consumers and decision-making rules for management of the company.

Supervisor: Blecha Petr, doc. Ing., Ph.D., FEng.

  5. Potential of energy reduction in production process

PhD thesis will focus on application of the current scientific knowledge (in the field of resource efficiency) in identification of energetic interrelations in production company. The thesis will include a proposal of methodology for production process optimisation covering both the aspect of effective use of energy resources/consumers and decision-making rules for management of the company.
