Profile

The aim of the three-year bachelor's Civil Engineering Management study specialization is the mastering of theoretical and specialised subjects which will enable independent and specialised work at the level of lower and middle management in civil engineering. Study in this specialization is based on knowledge of the fundamentals of the natural sciences, basic engineering and civil engineering sciences. These mainly consist of structural mechanics, elasticity and plasticity, and statics. Specialised education is gained in the subjects Building Constructions, Concrete and Metal Structures, Traffic Structures, Water Structures, Technical Equipment of Buildings and Construction Process Technology. Further technical, economic and civil engineering management subjects are gradually introduced during the course, with the emphasis being placed on the problems of costs and financing in the building industry and the basics of building project management. Other subjects include Company Management, Marketing in the Building Industry and Building Law. Students are expected to manifest their ability to work independently in their chosen profession by completing a project from the field of building construction as well as an economic project. The subjects Construction Firm and Public Building Investments allow further specialization.
