FASTAbbreviation: VSAcad. year: 2017/2018

Programme: Civil Engineering

Length of Study: 2 years

Accredited from: 25.7.2007Accredited until: 31.8.2023

Profile

The aim of studying the General Study course (common for the first two years for all fields of study – Building Constructions, Structures and Traffic Constructions, Building Material Engineering, Water Management and Water Structures and Civil Engineering Management) within the framework of the bachelor’s study programme Civil Engineering is to gain knowledge primarily from theoretical subjects from which students obtain the necessary level of understanding to manage the subsequent study of specialised construction and engineering subjects. Economics and social science subjects are also taught as part of this common block of subjects, as well as basic specialised subjects.

Key learning outcomes

The course of study is based on a common theoretical scientific foundation, comprising the study of the natural sciences, basic engineering and structural engineering sciences. Primary among these are structural mechanics, elasticity and strength, and statics. The specialised engineering content is gained from the subjects Building Constructions, Concrete and Metal Structures, Construction of Traffic Structures, Water Structures, Building Services and Technology of Building Operations.
