Abstract:

The aim of this Bachelor's thesis is solution of the problem of the roundabout that connects road II/430 Hviezdoslavova and the road III/715283 Bedřichovická in city district Brno Slatina. It is about single lane roundabout. The crossroad is situated on the edge of the city and the main problem is satisfactory capacity of it. This problem is linked to the movement of the vehicles leaving the city in the afternoon hours and arriving the city in the morning hours and also with transit transport across the roundabout.
The aim is to design new geometry of the roundabout to increase its capacity and also increase the fluidity and efficiency of the passage of vehicles through the intersection with emphasis on the safety of vehicles and pedestrians . The work also includes solutions for pedestrians through the intersection and the draft modifications sidewalks, barrier adaptations of pedestrian crosswalks , points for crossing and adjust the bus stops.
