Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with consolidation of the degraded plasters by means of limewater. The theoretical part contains a description of types and compositions of lime plasters including characterization of raw materials.  The process of degradation of lime plasters as well as the inorganic and organic consolidants are described. The different opinions on the consolidation by limewater are commented.
The experimental part states the results of consolidations of mortars with various amount of binder by limewater. The effectiveness of consolidation is evaluated by determination of compressive strength, content of calcium hydroxide and calcium carbonate, and by thermal analysis.
