The transition toward a circular economy and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions require innovative strategies for industrial waste valorisation. This dissertation presents a comprehensive evaluation of using Ladle Furnace Slag (LFS) as a CO2-reactive, non-cementitious binder. By optimizing curing conditions (specifically identifying the critical thresholds for mixing water content and compaction pressure) this work achieves significant CO2 sequestration efficiencies. The research proves that the rapid absorption of CO2 by LFS not only securely locks away carbon dioxide in stable mineral forms but also produces structural composites with robust mechanical properties. Crucially, a 365-day durability study assesses the carbonated LFS across diverse environments, including 60% relative humidity, 100% relative humidity, continuous water immersion, and dynamic outdoor exposure. The exterior samples demonstrated physical stability and strength, validating the practical engineering applicability of carbonated LFS.
