This bachelor's thesis deals with the application of the UV-curable conformal coating ABchimie 746E UV on electronic assemblies in the SMT industry. The theoretical part describes conformal coating material systems, application methods and curing mechanisms, including the dual UV/moisture curing system of the tested coating. The experimental part includes surface energy measurements of printed circuit boards using the OWRK method, where flux residues were shown to significantly increase surface energy and machine cleaning was found to provide more favourable conditions for coating adhesion than selective cleaning. It was also verified that the inspection UV lamp during application does not pose a risk of premature curing. Cross-section analysis revealed critically low edge coverage for most component types, while coating thickness on flat surfaces complied with both the IPC-CC-830C standard and manufacturer recommendations. Thermal cycling in the range of to +125 °C with a 10-minute dwell time at the extreme temperatures over 57 cycles showed no delamination orcracking of the coating.

Student seznámil státní zkušební komisi s cíli a řešením závěrečné vysokoškolské práce a zodpověděl otázky a připomínky oponenta a komise. Otázky komise k obhajobě: 1. Proč si myslíte že bylo provedené cyklické testování dostačující? 2. Navrhovaný Jet printing nanáší lak pod úhlem nebo kolmě? 3. Jaké doporučení pro správnou aplikaci laku byste navrhoval výrobci? 4. Dá se adheze hodnotit i jinýma metodami, než jste použil v práci?
