This master’s thesis focuses on the optimization of cathode fabrication for lithium–sulfur (Li–S) batteries, which represent a promising alternative and complement to conventional lithium-ion (Li-ion) systems. The aim of the thesis was to experimentally verify the influence of various electrode preparation methods on the microstructure and electrochemical properties of cathodes, with emphasis on improving capacity and cycling stability. The theoretical part summarizes the operating principle of Li–S batteries, the main degradation mechanisms, and current approaches to the preparation of cathode materials. The experimental part is focused on the preparation of composite electrodes based on sulfur, carbon, and a polymer binder using magnetic stirring, planetary and vibratory milling, and Ultra-Turrax homogenization. Structural characterization was carried out using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), while electrochemical properties were evaluated by galvanostatic cycling with potential limitation (GCPL) and cyclic voltammetry (CV). It was found that the preparation method significantly affects the homogeneity, microstructure, and resulting electrochemical properties of the electrodes.

Student seznámil státní zkušební komisi s cíli a řešením závěrečné vysokoškolské práce a zodpověděl otázky a připomínky oponenta Otázky: - Jak metoda přípravy ovlivňuje tloušťku vrstvy po nanesení a samotné lisování ovlivňuje kapacitu? Lze porovnat? - Na úkor kterého plateau Vám klesá kapacita a nebo se naopak zvyšuje kapacitu vzorků?
