This bachelor’s thesis is aimed at soldering of components with limited thermal resistance focused on the use of lead-free Sn-Ag-Cu based solder alloys. The goal of this paper is to conduct a research into the methods of testing and evaluating solder pastes with emphasis on the use of standardized and experimental test motives on a printed circuit board. Based on the acquired knowledge, a test substrate is designed to evaluate the quality of soldering pastes. Test substrate was also optimized for the use on Rohde & Schwarz assembly line. Two soldering pastes used in Rohde & Schwarz assembly are tested and evaluated. The research, design and experimental results that are summarized in the scope of this bachelor's thesis are used as a recommendation for further optimization of soldering process in manufacturing.
