The thesis deals with the issue of sEMG (surface electromyography) sensor design, with a focus on the quality of the measured signal. Electromyography is a field concerned with the detection of voltages generated during muscle activation and specifically measures the electrical activity of skeletal muscles. From a biological point of view, the origin and propagation of nerve impulses, their transmission through the body to the muscle, and muscle activation are explained. From an electrical engineering and physical perspective, the thesis provides an overview of factors influencing the quality of sEMG measurements, including the effects of impedance, noise, and motion artifacts. The aim is to understand the physical and electrochemical principles of bioelectrical signal acquisition, methods of their shielding, and to compare applicable materials and types of electrodes. Based on a thorough understanding of the topic, a precise sEMG sensor for sports applications is subsequently designed.

Student seznámil státní zkušební komisi s cíli a řešením závěrečné práce a zodpověděl otázky a připomínky oponenta a komise. Otázky komise k obhajobě: 1. Zlepšení digitálním zesílením – nebude se zesilovat i šum? 2. Proč nebyli vlivy uvažovány na začátku práce? 3. Existuje nějaký referenční senzor – použil jste ho?
